The ecological Real Abadia Congress Spa Hotel lies between Serra de Aire e Candeeiros and the city of Alcobaça. This 4-star hotel has rooms for social and corporate events, Spa, Gym, outdoor pools and an extensive garden with playground, animals and spaces for relaxation and contemplation.

All the thematic rooms are inspired by the region and have a large balcony and nice views to the surrouding área. Villas in turn are a new tipology (inaugurated in 2023) specially designed for families and long turn stays. They are pet friendly and have a terrace with a relaxing area.

What was the highlight of Real Abadia Hotel Alcobaça
Comfortable
Lovely contained villa, clean and tidy. Had a full length mirror with was great - you don’t get that very often sadly. Hotel its self was nice and clean.
The furniture outside our villa needed cleaning before use, covered in dirt and spider webs. We had to clean it down with the kitchen cloth etc. The breakfast in the hotel was very basic. Towels in the spa weren’t great quality and some of the lighting wasn’t working. The decking surrounding the outdoor swimming pool was very weather beaten, warped and sticking up, a massive trip hazard!

A very pleasent stay to rest!
As there were few guests at the hotel, the indoor pool was very good. The room is comfy! The staff was super nice! It is probably a great place to stay in the summer! (To use the huge gardens and outdoor pool)
It may be because the hotel had few guests but there weren’t some of the Bar foods available as there was no cook working on a specific day. Also the hot water wasn’t stable, always heating up and cooling down.. not great to bathe a baby. There isn’t a room to chill or play some games when it’s raining. The gym had 3 cardio machines and some Pilates balls.

Very Good
The food was really good, and the hotel and it’s atmosphere was very calming, except the spa.
Too many kids in the spa, couldn’t really enjoy myself because it was always noisy and the kids were splashing the water everywhere. I believe it would be a better experience if kids weren’t allowed in the spa. At least in the winter, since the outdoor pool isn’t proper. Maybe it could have a kids center, for the parents to leave the kids and go enjoy the spa. There, they would be entertained and there would be games and someone to watch over.
